CIEFMA has access to a large number of scientific instruments, located in the group's own laboratories, as well as in the microscope center of the department and in the Barcelona Research Center in Multiscale Science and Engineering. The main research facilities are:

Mechanical Characterization Equipment

 

  • Three servo-hydraulic universal testing machines equipped to perform a wide variety of tests from temperatures of -200 ° C to 1300 ° C (10 kN, 100 kN).
  • Two electromechanical machines for static and quasi-static testing from room temperature up to 1400 ° C (100 kN).
  • Electromechanical machine of static and quasi-static microassay up to 1 kN.
  • Resonance machine for cyclic tests at frequencies up to 300 Hz and temperatures up to 1200 ºC
  • Nanoindenter for the evaluation of mechanical properties at small scales and thin layers. Loads: 10N-10uN,minimum penetration depth < 10nm.
  • Tribometer 1 N- 1000 N, temperatures up to 150 ° C and tests on liquids.
